Williamsová, Kathryn ; Vágnerová, Marie (advisor) ; Goldmann, Petr (referee)
In this bachelor's thesis I focus on the experience of clients with the diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (BPD) in the system of care for the mentally ill in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part of the work I will first introduce the basic manifestations of borderline personality disorder, its typical development, diagnostic criteria, and treatment. Subsequently, I will focus on the stigmatization of BPD, as it is one of the most stigmatized mental illnesses, usually by people working in professional care. I will focus on the analysis of the possible causes of this stigmatization. I will then introduce the current system of care for the mentally ill in the Czech Republic. I will then focus in more detail on the ongoing reform and the specific treatment options that the client with BPD in the Czech Republic now has. In the empirical part I will present the specific experiences of eight respondents who were diagnosed with BPD in the system of care for the mentally ill in the Czech Republic. I carried out in-depth semi-structured interviews with elements of the narrative interview, which I subsequently subjected to a thematic analysis. First, I present their stories, from the start of their issues to the present day. In the second part, I will present the results of the thematic...

(English) This diploma thesis deals with the issue of mental disorders and services provided to family members of people with mental disorder within a non-profit sector. The chapters inform about mental disorder, quality of life, and describe the care of people with mental disorders - particularly social skills and communication, housing, education, employment and leisure time. The theoretical part also focuses on social work with the mentally ill and includes a role of a social worker. In conclusion, the theoretical part describes the possibilities of supporting family members within the system of the care of persons with mental disorder, especially educational and psychoeducational programmes. The empirical part maps the current range of services for family members of people with mental disorder, and in connection with that, it determines what workers consider to be their benefit. Then, the views of family members on the psychoeducational programme and the current system of taking care of persons with mental illness were examined in a parent organization. To implement the research, I chose a qualitative approach. The method used was a questionnaire survey and group interviews. The results showed...
Schizophrenia: Prevention of relapse and re-admission to psychiatric hospital after treatment
Aarseth, Erling Becker ; Bankovská Motlová, Lucie (advisor)
It has in this review article been cited several different studies and sources, all concerning the prevention of relapse of schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders; The different approaches to treatment (programs, type of psychotherapy etc.) have been discussed according to evidence based research and randomized controlled trials. Although some explanations have been given about terms used in the literature, as well as some definitions to enable classifications in future studies, it has been focused only on the preventive measures used in schizophrenia; a detailed description of different subgroups of schizophrenia, as well as detailed descriptions of pharmacology in euroleptics is beyond the scope of this article. The recognition of relapse symptoms was first considered and defined, and the different approaches was then discussed; Outpatient treatment plans and relapse prevention plans, as well as the impact of cognitive behavioral therapy and psychotherapy have been discussed in subsequent chapters. In this section, it was especially focused on the ITAREPS program and its impact on the relapse prevention. The role of medications was then defined and supported with clinical studies and trials.

VLČKOVÁ, Markéta
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine and describe the role of a nurse in psychoeducation of clients suffering from a psychotic disorder, with focus on a healthy lifestyle. The theoretical part is focused on the disorder itself. The first section gives a description of the symptoms of schizophrenia, the cure, the side effects of used medicaments and nursing care of psychotic patients. The second section deals with general education, thereafter aiming psychoeducation of clients with a psychotic illness. The third section emphasizes the importance of a balanced diet, exercise and relaxation and a healthy lifestyle in general. The theoretical part also includes information on The Programme for Good Health, to which the research part relates. The research part asks these investigative questions: What is the role of a nurse in psychoeducation of clients suffering from a psychotic disorder, with focus on a healthy lifestyle? What are the specifics of education of clients with a psychotic illness in The Programme for Good Health? What educational principles do the nurses involved in The Programme for Good Health follow? From the nurses' point of view, how do the clients involved in The Programme for Good Health cooperate? From the nurses' point of view, what are the benefits of The Programme for Good Health to the clients? To carry out the research, the strategy of qualitative research, an interrogation method and a semi-structured interview technique were used. The research sample was formed by two graduate nurses working in the organization FOKUS in České Budějovice, two nurses specialized in care of psychiatric patients, working in the psychiatric ward in České Budějovice Hospital, and one nurse also specialized in care of psychiatric patients. The answers of the respondents were analysed by the method of text colouring. The research describes the process and the purpose of The Programme for Good Health. The research results indicate what the role of a nurse is, what the specifics of education of clients with a psychotic illness are and what the benefits of The Programme for Good Health to the clients are. One of the important effect was that the nurses use knowledge gained during the programme and the method of individual sessions even after funding of the programme was ended.
